Whether you’re recently engaged or not, there’s never a bad time for some wedding inspiration! And at Kendall Point, we’re experts on putting on stunning weddings that are as special and unique as each individual couple.
If your favorite colors are red and blue, then this is the wedding inspiration you’re looking for—in a different shade. Travis and Katherine’s wedding featured navy and burgundy details throughout, giving the entire occasion an understated elegance that perfectly matched our Hill Country wedding venue.
Dive into this summer wedding from 2020 that was actually supposed to be a spring affair! Fortunately, the color palette of burgundy, blush, and navy translate to any season and it’s a wedding trend that’s not going anywhere..
When Katherine and Travis began planning their April 2020 wedding, they had no idea what was in store for them (and the world)! As their big day approached, they (as well as the rest of Texas) found themselves under a complete lock-down, but the couple and their families were as flexible and understanding as they could be under the circumstances. Truth be told, this “uncharted territory” caused us a lot of anxiety too, but with the help of the best vendor team ever (seriously!), we were able to reschedule Katherine and Travis’ wedding to July 10, 2020.
Here in Texas, summer weddings are always hot, but the heat index that day was over 110°! But at Kendall Point, that’s no problem. We’re well-equipped to keep people cool in our ballroom, and we don’t mind if you turn down the thermostat.
In the end, nothing could stand in the way of a spectacular celebration for Katherine and Travis.
Their wedding may have taken place in 2020, but Katherine and Travis were ahead of the trend with their burgundy and navy wedding.
Although the color palette was originally chosen for a day in April, it ended up being the perfect choice for the week after Independence Day. The typical patriotic colors of red, white, and blue are difficult to incorporate into an elegant wedding color scheme, but deeper, more toned down shades created a perfect, subtle effect. The couple also added in touches of blush pink for a more romantic vibe.
We expect to see a lot more burgundy and navy among wedding colors! Because while this wedding was planned for spring and ended up happening in summer, the natural colors are perfect for a fall wedding as well.
We honestly can’t say enough about the beautiful robes worn by the bride and bridesmaids as they were getting ready. Katherine stood out in a white floral robe that coordinated perfectly with her dress, while her bridesmaids rocked matching burgundy robes.
Seriously…how gorgeous is Katherine? And yes, that clawfoot tub in our Bridal Suite is available for a nice soak or some great pictures before you walk down the aisle!
For the ceremony, the bridesmaids wore burgundy gowns to meet the groom and groomsmen, who were in matching navy suits. And the brightly colors flowers on both the robes and in the bouquets were perfect on this long, sunny day.
Despite the heat, Katherine and Travis tied the knot under our custom-built gazebo, which had been decorated with white linens and burgundy and blush floral arrangements.
As it was summer, the trees and flowers were in full bloom, lending an atmosphere of life and vibrancy. And summer weddings mean casual dress code for your guests so they stay cool. It was a perfect Texas wedding with blue jeans, cowboy hats, and cowboy boots galore.
Katherine’s dad walked her down the aisle over a scattering of rose petals that matched her burgundy and blush wedding bouquet. The eucalyptus and touches of draping amaranths were so unique and in keeping with their color scheme.
Kendall Point’s porch wraps around the entire building, so finding the perfect light is never a problem. Katherine and Travis took their photos on the lower level, but the wrap-around balcony is also available for sweeping views of the Texas Hill Country.
Maybe we’re biased, but our Grand Ballroom was the ideal choice for Katherine and Travis’ reception!
These centerpieces featured burgundy and blush hydrangeas and hypericum berries, with plenty of greenery for a loose, organic feel. A tall vase facilitated conversation across the table. The remaining tables were decorated with a delicate collection of flowers and floating candles.
Gold chargers were a natural choice to coordinate with the color scheme, and the warm hardwood floors complemented the color palette perfectly. And even with a packed guestlist, there was plenty of room for both dining and dancing. The guests did plenty of both!
The overall vibe of the day was “understated elegance” and this cake fit the theme perfectly.
Piped designs added texture to a simple white cake, while burgundy and blush florals added just the right pop of color. A customized blush wedding cake topper congratulated the happy couple!
Travis’ groom’s cake, however, was not to be outdone.
The duck hunting wedding theme fit their personalities perfectly and made the guests smile (and their stomachs growl)!
Having waited an additional three months for this day, everyone was more than ready to party!
We love seeing the joy on everyone’s faces as they dance the night away with close friends and family. No matter how many weddings we see, it never gets old!
A beautiful framed sign acted as the menu for the bar.
And because this was a classic San Antonio wedding, margaritas were the signature drink of the evening. Just look at those flavors!
It might not have been the wedding date they planned, but it was the one they dreamed! Everyone had a blast and we were honored to have been a part of their big day.
