Beautiful Texas Summer Wedding at Kendall Point

Are you planning a summer wedding in the great state of Texas? It might sound off-putting at first—heat plus formal wear, makeup and styled hair?—but at the right venue, it can be an amazing affair. Enter Kendall Point in Boerne, TX, just north of San Antonio.

And if you’re looking for some inspiration on how to have a flawless summer wedding in Texas, look no further than Heather and Robert, who celebrated with us in June of 2020, just as temperatures were rising and Covid restrictions were beginning to lift in the state.

A Twist in the Wedding Plans

Heather and Matt had to abruptly push their wedding back a month due to COVID restrictions, and despite being one of the first events coming out of the shutdown, they were still able to have a wonderful celebration.

Let's Plan Your Dream Wedding

Heather and Robert were planning to be married in May of 2020, but as we all know, outside circumstances pushed those plans back a month. And because of the pandemic, we and the couple took extra safety precautions on top of already having the ceremony outside.

The ceremony chairs were distanced from each other, hand sanitizer was readily available, and friendly reminders were posted for guests to wash their hands and “Spread the gospel, not germs.”

Extra signs were added encouraging guests to wash hands more frequently to encourage healthy interactions during the pandemic.

The wedding party and their guests were fully aware of the risks involved in gathering so early into the pandemic, but with advance notice of the change of plans, enhanced cleaning and social distancing measures, and a newfound appreciation for social interactions, the entire affair was filled with love and joy.

Amenities Galore in the Bridal and Groom’s Suites

The hours before your wedding can be an overwhelming time, so it’s important to have people by your side who will keep you calm and stress-free. And at Kendall Point, your bridal and groom parties can get ready in style and comfort.

Heather took full advantage of the Instagram-ready claw foot tub in the bridal suite, enjoying some champagne along with the 360° views. And while she and her bridesmaids relaxed in matching robes, they enjoyed the private porch facing the ceremony site and the live camera feed of the setup down in the ballroom. We think of the details, so you don’t have to!

Summer in Texas Isn’t Too Hot for Your Wedding

People from all over know what Texas weather is like. The days are gorgeous and sun-filled with crystal blue skies and bright green grass. All things that make for the perfect backdrop for your wedding photos.

That sun also makes things pretty hot. Incredibly hot, to be honest. But our bride Heather didn’t let the Texas heat dissuade her from having her dream summer wedding in Texas. She chose lightweight fabrics for her wedding dress and the bridesmaid dresses. That way, when it came time for pictures, she and her best friends were glowing with joy, not sweat.

Heather and Robert chose a 6:00 PM start for their wedding so the heat of the day had moved on, but the sun was still present enough for a picturesque look.

The couple also made excellent use of everything Kendall Point has to offer by moving the party inside after the sun set and even providing a cool treat for their guests! Wedding guests had everything they could ask for with a gorgeous setting for the ceremony and the comfort of retreating to the air conditioning indoors for the reception.

The Dream Summer Wedding

Heather and Robert took full advantage of the gorgeous greenery across Kendall Point grounds holding their ceremony in our gazebo overlooking the sparkling blue pond.

It’s even more beautiful to look at as you’re walking down the steps leading to the grounds.

With Heather and Robert having their wedding in June of 2020, after so many of us had spent the previous three months cooped up in our homes, the couple and their guests were more than ready to celebrate together. And celebrate they did.

Great food, dancing, sparklers, and more. All that plus a beautiful venue made for the perfect Texas summer wedding.
